A Word for Today
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
How many of us are struggling with where we are at the moment whether it is relational, financial or more importantly spiritual? There are many who do not believe that the future holds anything remotely positive for them. Some are experiencing some of their darkest moments even as I type this short note. Well, I want to tell you today that no matter how big your “problem” it is never too big for Jesus.
One has to read bible verses in context and the verse above is no exception. If you read this in context you will find that Jeremiah was a prophet and God’s mouthpiece to Judah. God chose Jeremiah to bring a message to His people. God’s message through Jeremiah came to Judah in her most desperate hour. You see, Israel had forsaken God but God did not give up on them. He presented them with an opportunity to respond and this, then brought about reconciliation between God and Israel.
This is the same God that we serve and the same God that is able to bring about reconciliation in your life. God wants the best for us and as he promised the people of Israel that he would deliver them, so he has done this for you too through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ. This is the same for all of us. The same promises are ours in Christ Jesus. What else in life is a “sure thing?” I can tell you though that when God tells you that through the Salvation of Christ, you are considered the righteous in Christ and that you have a future in heaven, you can believe Him.
God has plans for you and me, plans to prosper and not harm us. God ‘s grace is sufficient for us all.
My future is decided, my life is in God’s hands and I trust Him completely. Who do you trust?
God Bless
